Funeral Contract Price Changes As Of July 1, 2001

Funeral Contract Price Changes As Of July 1, 2001

Under our contracts with Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsville MD and Jefferson Funeral Chapel in Alexandria VA, the price of the contract funeral, before taxes and any optional add-ons, will be $1515 from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002, the date on which the contracts terminate.

We have an option to renew with Borgwardt for the following two years at price increases each year of 8%.

The increase to $1515 includes a pass-through of $40 in the price Borgwardt has informed us that it must pay the coffin manufacturer, and is allowed in the original contract.

As of July 1, 2000, the Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington has two contracts for funeral services, one for D.C. and Maryland, and one for Virginia. The contracts differ in part 5 regarding the provision of a Tahara room, and in part 24 regarding the renewal options. Questions about these agreements should be addressed to

At Borgwardt contact Ben Matthews at 301-937-1707.

At Jefferson contact Joe Charlton at 703-971-7400.
